Carmen Lau
She/her
MPP Volunteer
Carmen supports people on the unceded lands of the Woiwurrung, Wurrundjeri and Bunurong people.
Carmen (she/her) is a queer, second-generation Chinese immigrant from Aotearoa.
Carmen is passionate about enabling communities to thrive. Her background in research and evaluation is underpinned by social justice and systems change, and helps ensure policies and programs are meaningful and impactful for the communities they intend to serve. Carmen is experienced at engaging with diverse groups with intersecting lived experiences, including LGBTIQA+ and CALD communities, across multiple sectors, including housing and homelessness, mental health and wellbeing, and family violence.
Carmen is really excited to support MPP with evaluation and data analysis to illustrate the great work undertaken by the team, as well as gain insights into how community members experience the program.
Outside of work, Carmen enjoys soaking up the outdoors through hiking, camping, and climbing. She is also a big fan of reading, spending time with friends and community, and discovering new hobbies (currently roller skating and sewing!).
