Fatma Al Mansoury
She/Her
MPP Counsellor and Social Worker
Fatma supports people on the unceded lands of the Woiwurrung, Wurrundjeri and Bunurong people.
Fatma is an Iranian born Iraqi, who grew up in Kaurna country. Fatma is a former refugee who grew up navigating the intersections of existing amongst individualistic society while simultaneously belonging to a community enriched by collectivist beliefs.
Fatma strives to cultivate a space of connection and empathy within the therapeutic model, with the intention of using a person-centred approach that also acknowledges and respects the impact of community, culture and history on the individual experience.
Fatma (hopefully) is generally an easy-going person that brings a grounding vibe to the atmosphere. She has recently gotten into watching probably too much improv comedy, realising a deep appreciation for the ‘yes and…” approach to whatever life throws at you. She is working on the skill of approaching life with less rigidity and with more of a desire towards mutual exploration and discovery.
Fatma really enjoys reading and writing but does both far less than she would like to. She does have vague aspirations of writing a book one day, however harbours a deep vendetta against sitting down and actually writing something.
Fatma is open for referral and is available for online and in person [in Footscray] on Thursdays from 11am - 7pm
