Joy and Grief Cafes

We believe that joy, community care, connection and collective experiencing is central to healing as individuals and communities, especially spaces that are non-clinical that allow for people to show up as their whole self. grief cafes are gentle, community-led spaces to gather, share, listen, and sit together with our experiences of grief. They are non-clinical and consent-led, welcoming stories, reflection, and connection. There is no fixing or advice, just collective care, honesty, and presence. Similarly, joy cafés are community-led spaces to gather, share, and centre joy in its many forms. They invite stories and reflections on connection, creativity, resistance, and rest, without pressure to perform happiness. Joy is held as relational, political, and sustaining, existing alongside the complexity of society and everyday life.
