Lauren Breen

Support Worker and Counsellor | She/Her/Hers

Lauren works on the unceded lands of the Woiwurrung, Wurrundjeri and Bunurong people.

She offer services in person at the Footscray site and online sessions via zoom.

​

Lauren works on Mondays 10am-6pm, Tuesdays 8:30am-4:30pm and Thursdays 12-8pm

Lauren is a queer therapist, with experience and specialisation in supporting people to navigate through psychosocial barriers to wellbeing. She supports people like you to find and embody your favourite self.

Lauren is a genuine and compassionate counsellor who believes in your capacity and capabilities for connection, growth, and meaningful change. Her approach is trauma-informed, person-centred, and grounded in social justice frameworks. Lauren strives to honour, respect, and affirm your unique identity and experiences, and is dedicated to creating a warm, relaxed, and collaborative space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and challenges without judgement.

Lauren utilises her lived/living experiences, knowledge, and skills to support a range of participants and presenting concerns. She has a special interest in supporting: 

  • Neurodivergent young people and adults (self-identified & diagnosed) 

  • LGBTQIASB+ individuals and communities

  • Carers 

  • Trauma and Complex Trauma 

  • Chronic health conditions

  • Chronic pain 

  • Body image (Lauren is inclusive of all bodies and believes in health at every size) 

  • Sport related performance issues

  • Life transitions

Lauren values working with a wide range of participants and warmly welcomes people who don't see their identity or concerns represented in the list above. 
 

Lauren is incredibly interested in supporting you to identify your inherent and unique strengths and to increase your self-awareness, motivations and confidence to reach the goals you have for your life. Lauren tailors her sessions and therapeutic work in a way that will work best with your situation and experiences as well as with you as a person.

  • Master of Counselling

  • Member of Australian Counselling Association (ACA)

Lauren's Fees

  • No cost sessions available to all LGBTIQAPSB+ Forcibly Displaced People

  • $100 for 50 minute individual sessions [concession]

  • $130 for 50 minute individual sessions [full fee]

Sessions with Lauren are not rebatable through Medicare
