Mikhael supports people on the unceded lands of the Woiwurrung, Wurrundjeri and Bunurong people.
Mikhael Touma is a queer Arab community advocate, NAATI-certified Arabic interpreter, and co-founder of of Queer Arabs Australia (QAA) and the Language Justice Network (LJN). Based in Naarm (Melbourne), Mikhael works at the intersection of language justice, forcibly displaced peoples rights, and LGBTQIA+ inclusion. Through QAA and LJN, he leads initiatives that provide culturally safe language services, community-led support, and advocacy for LGBTQIA+ individuals from Arab, Middle Eastern, and North African backgrounds. As a member of the MPP Advisory Group, Mikhael brings lived experience and strategic insight to advancing equity and belonging across intersectional queer communities.
