Sabrina Vincent

She/Her

MPP Volunteer

Sabrina works on the unceded lands of the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and Bunurong peoples of the Kulin nation.

A recent career change has taken Sabrina from being a graduate of a Bachelor of Commerce and Science at Monash University to currently studying a Graduate Diploma in Psychology at the University of Melbourne to pursue a path towards becoming a Psychologist.

Sabrina is a volunteer who primarily works within the Manaya Pride Program to provide support for LGBTQIAP+ forcibly displaced individuals. She hopes that within this role she may be able to build upon the skills and knowledge needed to provide compassionate care to some of the most vulnerable people in our communities.

At the core of Sabrina’s ambitions is on one hand, tackling the deep-rooted stigmatisation of mental health in many communities such as within her own being the south-Asian and Tamil community and on the other hand, addressing barriers to mental healthcare access for minorities in the first place. She recognises that this cannot be done without first embracing diversity and inclusion, advocating for structural change and standing in solidarity with communities who are largely overlooked due to the oppressive systems within which we are forced to operate within.

When Sabrina isn’t invested in her studies you will likely find her reading books for many hours at a time, watching Tamil movies and enjoying the beach (even during the dead of winter).
