Anirudh Chilukuri

Social Worker | They/Them/Theirs

Anirudh learns and supports our communities on the unceded lands of the Woiwurrung, Wurrundjeri and Bunurong people.

Anirudh works casually at TIF and is available to support you via mutually agreed upon appointments. Please reach out to admin to find out if Ani is able to work within your schedule

Anirudh who also goes by Ani is a neurodivergent, non-binary and queer person of colour. They are a Social Worker and with a background in psychology, Ani has previously worked as a disability support worker and an NDIS support coordinator prior to their work at TIF.

Anirudh, also known as Ani, is a neurodivergent and queer person originally from India. After living in Australia for almost a decade, Ani has become deeply aware of the colonial legacies that impact both their homeland and the communities they serve. Recently graduating with a Master of Social Work, Ani is currently supporting forcibly displaced queer individuals through the Manaya Pride Program (MPP) at The Iceberg Foundation (TIF), where they provide trauma-informed counseling, case management, and community support.

With a background in psychology and previous experience as a disability support worker and support coordinator, Ani is passionate about addressing the systemic barriers that people face with intersecting identities, particularly queer people of color from forcibly displaced backgrounds. Their practice framework is grounded in decolonisation, anti-oppressive approaches, and cultural humility, ensuring that the lived experiences of participants are centred and validated. Ani’s work is driven by a desire to create structural change so that marginalised communities can have equitable access to resources and live fulfilling lives.

When not focused on their professional work, Ani enjoys channeling their energy into powerlifting, long walks, watching movies, and reading. They are dedicated to promoting social justice and decolonization, both in their personal life and professional practice.

Ani is currently available to support people as an outreach support worker, a NDIS social worker and an MPP counsellor. Ani is keen to support you to connect in with community, engage with your NDIS supports, continue to do the things that bring you joy and make life a bit easier for you to find your favourite self.

When they are not focused on their studies or work, you would find Ani expending their excess energy through powerlifting, going for long walks and decompressing by watching movies and reading books.
